Budget and Tax Matters

Introduction

This page brings together what you need to know about the City of Fredville's budget and property taxes, including the annual tax rate, the state's Truth-in-Taxation (TNT) process and other helpful resources.

Every year the City Council reviews and sets a property tax rate. That revenue pays for core services such as police and fire protection, street work, parks and recreation, libraries and other community programs. The city aims to give residents clear, accurate and prompt information during this process, explaining how the rate is set and when the public can weigh in.

Proposed Property Tax Rates

This notice is provided as required by Section 26.04(e-2) of the Texas Tax Code.

The state's online property tax database lets you look up your property and see the estimated taxes each local taxing unit would levy if it adopts its proposed rate.

Fredville lies in parts of two counties and is served by several independent school districts, so tax rates and bills differ depending on where your property sits.

During August and September, as local officials propose and then adopt their rates, the database is refreshed often to reflect what you will owe.

To get email alerts when the database changes, look up your property and choose View. On the detail page, click "Subscribe to notifications" near the upper right, enter your full name and a working email address, choose "Confirm," and then follow the steps in the confirmation message.
