Animal Services

Fredville Animal Services (FVAS) promotes responsible pet ownership and helps keep the city safe through field enforcement, education programs and pet health and wellness services for residents. At the Fredville Paws Adoption Center, families can adopt dogs, cats and other small animals. FVAS accepts stray, found and surrendered pets from Fredville and gives each one health and wellness care before it is placed for adoption.

Wagging Tails Dog Park

Dogs can run off leash at the two-and-a-half-acre Wagging Tails Dog Park, just north of the Fredville Paws Adoption Center at 2250 W. Sentinel Trail. The Parks, Arts and Recreation Department takes care of the park.

Fredville's first dog park has three fenced play areas: a small-dog yard, a large-dog yard and a third that is rotated into use so the turf can recover. Every area has shaded benches and drinking fountains for both pets and people. A sidewalk links the 36-space parking lot to the park entrance, and accessible paving continues into each off-leash area. Trees, turf and native grasses give each area a natural, park-like feel.

The park was built with help from local volunteers and donors.

Location: North of the Fredville Paws Adoption Center, 2250 W. Sentinel Trail, Fredville, TX 75999. Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
