Residential Demolition Permit

Taking down any structure that needed a building permit to build also takes a permit to remove it. A demolition permit is the legal authorization for that work, and every residential demolition in Fredville must be approved by the Building Inspections Division first.

Step 1. Check the Requirements

The division needs the following before it can issue a residential demolition permit:

• The street address and legal description of the property
• Contact information for the owner and any contractor or architect
• The square footage and the area to be demolished
• The class of work and a description of any electrical, plumbing or mechanical work, with the project valuation and the market value of the property
• A tax certificate showing that all property taxes are current

Step 2. Apply Online

Submit your application through Fredville's online permit portal. First-time users create an account with a working email address, which takes roughly five minutes.

Step 3. After You Apply

Most applications are processed in 5 to 10 business days. The review may take longer if the division is waiting on corrections or extra information from the applicant.
