Assumed Name (DBA) Filings

State Rules for Assumed Name Certificates
Texas law requires corporations, limited liability companies, limited partnerships, limited liability partnerships and other filing entities, whether formed in Texas or elsewhere, to file an assumed name certificate when they routinely do business or offer professional services here under a name different from the legal name in their formation documents. The certificate is filed with both the Texas Secretary of State and the clerk of the appropriate county.
For more information, call the Texas Secretary of State at (555) 010-6955.
