A Public Works Construction Paving Permit is needed before work begins on public paving such as sidewalks, street bores, street cuts or new street paving.
Step 1. Gather What You Need
Have these items ready before the permit can be issued:
- Contact information for the applicant, contractor and developer (spreadsheet form)
- The project address
- The materials testing lab you will use and the type of work planned (for example, new street paving, a street cut, a bore under the street or a sidewalk)
- The cost of the public improvement
- A paving bond
- A completed maintenance bond form
- A completed construction document package
Step 2. Apply Online
Submit your application through the city's online permitting portal. New users set up an account with a working email address, which takes about five minutes.
Step 3. Processing
Most complete applications are processed within three to five business days. Approval can take longer if staff need corrections or more information from you.
