The city keeps several drop-off sites open for residents who have more recycling than their cart can hold, and for people who live in apartment or other multifamily communities that do not offer recycling service.
All Recyclables Accepted
- Fredville Landfill, convenience area: 2750 Ashcombe Boulevard, Fredville, TX 75999
The landfill takes every item that the curbside program accepts. See the curbside recycling page for the full list of what does and does not belong in the bin.
Fredville households may also drop off electronics for free recycling, either at the landfill or during any of the city's free electronics collection days (this service is not open to businesses). Read more about electronics recycling.
All Recyclables Except Glass
These sites take paper, cardboard, metal cans, and plastic bottles and containers. Glass is not accepted. Please break down and flatten boxes before putting them in the container.

- Make two-sided printing the default on office copiers.
- Borrow or rent tools and equipment you only need now and then.
- Lease office machines rather than buying them.
- Let grass clippings stay on the lawn to act as mulch.
- Pick long-lasting products over disposable ones.
- Ask your neighborhood school about starting a food-scrap compost program.
- Switch to cloth napkins and towels.
Reuse
- Pass along books and magazines, or donate them to shelters, retirement homes, or hospital and office waiting areas.
- Fix things that break instead of replacing them.
- Give usable goods to charity.
- Bring canvas or other reusable bags when you shop.
- Keep leftovers in containers you can wash and use again.
- Use rechargeable batteries.
- Borrow books from the library or buy them secondhand.
- Take part in paint drop-off and reuse programs.
- Drink from sturdy mugs and refillable bottles.
Rebuy
- Help complete the recycling loop by choosing products made from, or packed in, recycled material.
- Before buying large items or electronics, ask the seller whether the product can be recycled, returned or reused at the end of its life.
- Steer clear of items that cannot be recycled, and learn which materials local recyclers will take.
- Encourage the stores you visit to carry goods made with recycled content.
- Look for secondhand goods at thrift shops, consignment stores and garage sales, through classified listings, or in online swap and giveaway groups.
