Pickup Schedule
Brush and bulky items are picked up once a month on your regular trash day, in your neighborhood's brush week (first, second, third or fourth week of the month). Find your week on What's my trash day?
Set-Out Deadline
Have brush at the curb by 7 a.m. on your trash day in your brush week, and no earlier than the weekend before.
What Crews Collect
Brush cut to lengths under 6 feet, with branches under 8 inches across, bundled or stacked, up to 4 cubic yards per pickup (about a pickup truck bed).
Cut down any limbs or trunks that exceed these limits before you set them out. Oversized material will be left behind.
What Crews Do Not Collect
The brush crew does not take leaves, grass clippings, weeds, flowers, fencing, wire, landscape timbers, plastic bags or anything else that is not brush.
Branches 8 inches or more across or 6 feet or longer will also stay at the curb.
How to Set Out Brush
- Place brush at the curb, or at the edge of the road if there is no curb, no earlier than the weekend before your pickup day. Brush put out earlier than that can lead to a fine.
- Stack brush in one neat pile instead of spreading it around. Keep the pile at least two feet away from mailboxes, fences, fire hydrants, utility poles, gas and water meters, sprinkler heads, low branches and anything else that would get in the crew's way.
- Crews will skip any pile that a parked car or other obstruction blocks.
- Brush may never block a sidewalk or the right-of-way, or keep drivers from seeing oncoming traffic.
- Alley pickup is not available.
- The program serves residents who do their own trimming. If you hire a contractor or tree service, that company must haul away what it cuts.
Collection Timing
Brush collection runs all year, once a month on your trash day in your brush week.
- Each residential address gets one pickup per month.
- Over the limit? Schedule a special pickup for $45 per extra 4 cubic yards through Fredville 311 at (555) 010-0311.
Who Is Eligible
Brush collection is offered to residential properties in Fredville. Commercial properties and churches are not included.
Possible Delays
Severe weather can leave far more brush than usual, so the regular schedule may slip during and after a storm.
City, state and federal holidays can also push pickups back. When that happens, crews resume on the next business day. To report a problem with a pickup, use the brush pickup issue form.
