Fredville follows the 2023 National Electrical Code, which the State of Texas requires, to make sure electrical systems and equipment are installed safely. Any electrical work needs a permit approved by the Building Inspections Division and has to meet the electrical provisions of the Fredville Code of Ordinances.
Step 1: Gather What You Need
To be issued an electrical work permit, provide:
- The property address and how the property is used
- Owner and contractor details
- The type of installation
- The electrical permit category
- A completed fault current calculation form whenever the service panel is being upgraded
Please note:
- This permit covers electrical work performed by a licensed contractor only. When the electrical work is part of a bigger job, such as new construction, a remodel or an addition, list the electrician as a contractor on that main permit instead.
- Solar PV systems and generators need their own Commercial Miscellaneous Permit.
- Review the city's installation requirements for unlisted equipment before work begins.
Step 2: Submit Your Application Online
Submit your application through the city's online permit portal. If this is your first time using the portal, you will need a working email address to register, and setting up the account takes only about five minutes.
After You Apply
Most applications are reviewed within 5 to 10 business days. If reviewers ask you for corrections or more information, approval may take longer.
