Every fire alarm system needs a permit and must pass a Fire Prevention Division inspection.
Step 1. Review Requirements
Before a fire alarm permit can be issued, you will need to provide:
- Shop drawings of the system
- Manufacturer data sheets ("cut sheets") for each device you plan to install
- The project address and its legal description
- Contact details for the owner, contractor and/or architect
- How the space will be used, plus its square footage and the area affected
- The class of work, a description, the job valuation and the property's market value
Step 2. Create an Account & Apply Online
Permit applications are filed through the City of Fredville's online permit portal. New users need a working email address to register, and setting up an account takes roughly five minutes.
Step 3. What Happens Next
Once your online application is in, an inspection will be scheduled. Review usually takes about 10 business days, though approval can take longer if the applicant needs to supply corrections or updates.
