Daycare Fire Permit

Every daycare in Fredville must hold an approved Daycare Fire Permit and pass a Fire Prevention Division inspection.

Step 1: Check What You Need

Before a Daycare Fire Permit can be issued, you will need to provide:

• A copy of the facility's state license
• Proof that the HVAC system was inspected in the last 12 months
• Proof of a passed fire sprinkler inspection in the last 12 months, if the building has sprinklers
• Proof of a passed fire alarm inspection in the last 12 months, if the building has an alarm system
• Proof of a passed inspection of the kitchen hood fire suppression system in the last 12 months, if there is one
• Proof of a passed natural gas piping inspection in the last 24 months, if the building uses gas
• The project's address and legal description
• Contact information for the owner, contractor and/or architect
• A plan showing how the space will be used, with the square footage and the area involved
• The class of work, a description of it, its valuation and the property's market value

Step 2: Set Up an Account and Apply Online

Permit applications are submitted through the city's online permitting portal. New users need a working email address to register, and creating an account usually takes about five minutes.

Step 3: After You Apply

Once your online application is in, an inspection will be scheduled. Most permits are processed in about 10 business days, though approval can take longer if the applicant needs to supply corrections or more information.
