High Grass Season: 10-Inch Limit
Overgrown grass, weeds, shrubs, trees and other plants are more than an eyesore. They create a nuisance and can pose a health risk. Every property owner and tenant is responsible for keeping the yard maintained, and that includes any public right-of-way next to the property. Violations must be corrected within 7 days.
- Keep grass no taller than 10 inches.
- Trim trees and shrubs that hang over the right-of-way so there is at least 14 feet of clearance above streets and paved alleys and at least 7 feet above sidewalks, keeping the view and path clear for drivers and pedestrians.
- Pick up cut vegetation and fallen limbs and dispose of them properly.
Examples of Yard Maintenance Violations
