Roadway Improvements

Transportation and Mobility Services manages street, signal and corridor projects throughout Fredville. Below is the latest on work that is underway or about to begin.

Fawnridge Parkway

Limits: Kestrel Line Road to the tollway

Builds a new four-lane divided concrete parkway with two bridges, plus sidewalks, storm drainage and new traffic signals.

Estimated completion: early fall 2025

Tamsworth Road at Bramblewood Creek

Paving, drainage, water and wastewater improvements on West Tamsworth Road where it crosses Bramblewood Creek.

The road will be raised at the creek, and the undersized box culverts will give way to a 150-foot bridge sized to safely carry a 100-year flood. Crews will remove the old culvert crossing, pavement and sidewalk; move water and wastewater mains; upgrade storm drains; build embankments and retaining walls; construct the bridge; and finish with new paving and sidewalks.

Estimated completion: June 2026

Traffic Signal: Yucca Bluff-Ashby-Morrow Road at Marlowe Parkway

Installs new traffic signals along with sidewalks, ADA curb ramps and fresh pavement markings.

Estimated completion: January 2026

Traffic Signal: Bluebonnet Road at Valor Lane

Adds a new signal with fiber optic communications, plus sidewalks, ADA ramps, pavement markings and the pavement for an added left-turn lane.

Point of Entry Wastewater Line for the Regional River Authority

Location: Ambermill Road, north of Kenwick Road

Moves a wastewater line ahead of a separate Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) project to rebuild the Ambermill Road bridge over Quillback Creek, which is expected to start in spring 2026. Drivers on Ambermill Road may see delays while the line is relocated.

Estimated completion: September 2025

Dynamic Message Signs and Traffic Cameras

Corridors: the interstate from the tollway to Ashcombe Boulevard, and the east-west state highway from NW 23rd St to Redbud Drive

Furnishes and installs closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras and dynamic message signs (DMS) on both corridors. The cameras let staff watch traffic flow and crashes in real time and adjust signal timing as needed, while the signs warn drivers about incidents ahead and point them to detours.

Estimated start: July 2025

Avenue K Right-Turn Lane

Location: E. Avenue K at the western state highway

Adds a dedicated westbound right-turn lane on Avenue K at the highway, together with drainage changes, signal modifications and utility relocations.

Estimated start: October 2025. Estimated completion: February 2026

Calloway Street: Tollway to Tumbleweed Trace

Limits: the tollway to Tumbleweed Trace, including the intersection of Calloway Street and Wrenfield Parkway

Replaces the existing asphalt street with concrete pavement and adds new sidewalks, traffic signals, storm drains and streetlights.

Estimated start: fall 2025. Estimated completion: late 2026

Main Street and East Calloway Street Roundabout

Builds a roundabout where E. Main Street meets Calloway Street. The new layout will keep the intersection moving more smoothly and shift westbound trucks off Main Street and onto Calloway Street.

Estimated start: late 2025. Estimated completion: early 2027

Quarter-Cent Sales Tax Street Program
