Fire Prevention and Code Regulations

The Fire Prevention Division of the Fredville Fire Department works to make Fredville a fire-safe place for the residents, visitors and businesses who call it home.

Fire code regulations

The summaries listed below explain specific parts of the fire code. For more information, call Fire Prevention at (555) 010-4148.

Plan review: Send all plans for fire review using the city's online permitting portal.

Keep in mind:

  • The summaries focus on requirements that come up often or tend to cause confusion, to help you understand and apply a long and detailed fire code.
  • They do not list every fire code requirement.
  • They cannot be used on their own to show that a project meets the fire code.

The complete fire code and the standards it references are listed under Helpful resources below. For questions about a specific project, contact the Fire Marshal's Office.

Preventing fires at home

Being prepared and well informed is one of the best ways to keep a house fire from starting. These guides can help keep your household safe:

Key boxes for building access

Rapid-entry key boxes must be ordered online from the fire department's approved key box manufacturer. When you order, choose City of Fredville, Texas, so the box matches the department's keys. The building owner or occupant is responsible for installing the box correctly and keeping it in good condition.

The installation rules are explained in the Building Access (PDF) and Vehicle Access Gates (PDF) documents.

  • Order a key box from the approved manufacturer
  • Online permitting portal
