Residential Electrical Work

An electrical permit confirms that your project meets the minimum safety standards and helps protect your home. Every electrical job on a residential property needs a permit approved by the Building Inspections Division.

The work must also meet the electrical provisions of the Fredville Code of Ordinances.

Step 1. Check the Requirements

The division needs the following before it can issue an electrical work permit:

  • The property address and how the property is used
  • Contact information for the owner and the contractor
  • The type of installation: new, remodel, repair or addition
  • The category of electrical permit you are requesting

Step 2. Apply Online

Submit your application through Fredville's online permit portal. First-time users create an account with a working email address, which takes roughly five minutes.

Step 3. After You Apply

Most applications are processed in 5 to 10 business days. The review may take longer if the division is waiting on corrections or extra information from the applicant.
