Every underground fire line installation needs an approved permit, and the work must be inspected by Fire Prevention Division staff.
Step 1. Check the Requirements
Before a fire line underground permit can be issued, have these items ready:
- Shop drawings
- Manufacturer specification sheets ("cut sheets") for each piece of equipment you plan to install
- The project's address and legal description
- Contact details for the owner, contractor and/or architect
- The planned use, square footage and area affected
- The class of work, a description, the job valuation and the property's market value
Step 2. Set Up an Account and Apply Online
Applications are submitted through the City of Fredville's online permit portal. New users need a valid email address to register, and setting up an account takes roughly five minutes.
Step 3. What Happens Next
Once your online application is complete, an inspection will be scheduled. Most permits are processed within about 10 business days, though review can take longer if the applicant needs to submit corrections or more information.
