Every fire pump installation needs a permit approved by the Fire Prevention Division and must pass a Fire Prevention inspection.
Step 1. Review Requirements
Before a fire pump permit can be issued, these items must be approved:
- Shop drawings
- Manufacturer data sheets ("cut sheets") for each piece of equipment you plan to install
- Hydraulic calculations, along with the pump curve
- The project address and its legal description
- Contact information for the owner, contractor and/or architect
- The intended use, square footage and affected area
- The class of work, a description of the job, the project valuation and the market value of the property
Step 2. Create an Account and Apply Online
Permit applications are filed through the City of Fredville's online permit portal. New users need a working email address to sign up, and opening an account takes roughly five minutes.
Step 3. What Happens Next
When your online application is complete, an inspection will be scheduled. Most permits are processed in about 10 business days, although approval can take longer if the applicant has to make corrections or send more information.
