The Building Advisory and Appeals Board acts on recommendations from Code Compliance staff about violations of city codes, including the property maintenance code. The board may also grant exceptions to construction standards in the Building Code, and it hears appeals of decisions made by the city's plumbing, mechanical and electrical inspectors.

The board meets at 6 p.m. on the first Monday of each month. View board agendas.
Membership
The board has nine members: an architect; a licensed engineer, ideally with structural experience; a home builder or contractor who works in Fredville; a plumber or mechanical contractor; an electrician; and additional members drawn from other building-related professions.
The mayor and each council member appoint one member.
