COVID-19 Updates
Your health and safety come first at FVHNS. While COVID-19 continues to affect our region, we are reducing face-to-face contact, following guidance from the CDC, the federal public health agency.
FVHNS has put these precautions in place:
- Recertifications will be handled differently. All of them will be completed by mail, by email or over the phone.
- We ask clients to phone or email their Housing Specialist when possible. Walk-in lobby visits are offered on Tuesday mornings at 8:30 and Thursday afternoons at 1:30.
- Housing Quality Standards inspections will be done virtually only.*
- New and current clients will receive vouchers by email or as their specialist directs.
- Payments to landlords will be processed on the normal schedule.
*Fredville housing inspectors will carry out Housing Quality Standards (HQS) inspections by video call, with your help on site. Your assigned inspector will reach out to schedule a time and agree with you on which video method to use. After the inspection, your report goes through the usual steps, and everything continues just as it would after an in-person visit.
